The Mineral Products Association website includes information on the aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, lime, mortar and silica sand industries. Our members provide essential materials and sustainable solutions from production to consumption. Through the web, we aim to give you a wider understanding of our fascinating and vital industry. The Mineral Products Association (MPA) is the trade association for companies involved in supplying crushed rock and sand and gravel from land-based and marine sources (marine aggregates), agricultural lime and industrial lime, asphalt, cement, concrete including ready-mixed concrete, mortar, silica sand, slag, recycled aggregates and construction and quarry plant. You will also find key information on sustainable development, including health & safety, employment, competence, community relations, resource conservation, environmental protection, restoration, sustainable products, stakeholder accountability, carbon management, transport, heritage, biodiversity and Geodiversity. Visit our specific careers area or our youth zone with includes the Stay Safe 09 campaign and the Virtual Quarry websites or browse through a variety of video resources, including our recent Showcase 09 in the Cinema area. The MPA represents the interests of more than 120 quarry operators who together cover 100% of GB cement production, 90% of aggregates production and 95% of asphalt and ready-mixed concrete production. Did you know, for example, that each person in the UK uses four tonnes of aggregates each year? Or that the mineral products industry has planted over two million trees in recent years?
