Scottish Quarriers to Tackle the Road Ahead
QPA Scotland, the principal trade body for the Scottish quarrying
sector, will hold its biennial conference on 20 November with
a focus on emerging developments in the coming years. Under the
title "New Opportunities", operators from across Scotland
will come together to find out the latest developments across
the key issues of health and safety, the environment and mineral
planning. With QPA Scotland welcoming the positive climate continuing
to develop between the industry and its regulators, the sector
is looking forward with confidence.
Following a record turn out to the 2006 conference, the event
will again find its home at the Scottish Natural Heritage Conference
Centre, Battleby near Perth. A roster of high profile speakers
will include SEPA Director Calum McDonald, Susan Donnelly from
HSE Scotland, the Scottish Government's Assistant Chief Planner
John McNairney and John Thomson, Director of Scottish Natural
Heritage. Senior managers from across the Scottish quarrying industry
will also share their thoughts on developments on the ground.
QPA Scotland is now taking bookings, with tickets just £74
including lunch. Those interested should contact the QPA's Siân
Barker on 01329 314854 or barker@qpa.org.
Visit the QPA's events page at www.qpa.org/events
